Abismo Anhumas

RAPPELLING TRAINING THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Abismo Anhumas is an underground lake full of stalactite formations. When taking this tour, you will need to rappel 72 meter down into this ‘abyss’. This equals the height of a 30 floors building. Every visitor must complete a rappelling training in town before 6 p.m. the day before visiting the cave.

ONLY 20 VISITORS PER DAY, OF WHOM 4 CAN BE CERTIFIED DIVERS

The cave’s clear lake reaches 80 meters deep and has the width of a soccer field. You can either snorkel or dive into the lake among tens of limestone conical formations, some reaching 20 meters high.

Visits are limited to 20 people per day only, of whom only 4 can be divers (which must be certified divers), so book ahead! Divers will get to go 18 meters deep. A basic diving certificate is required and sufficient; no Advanced Diving Certificate nor Cave Diving Certificate is required. The Abismo Anhumas tour is one of the most expensive outings available, yet very unique.
